Grade 6 · TLE with ICT · First Term
Eight stations, from the gills of a single tilapia to the cloud where you keep the records. Tap every card. Answer every question. The farm only works if you know all eight.
Five parts · five jobs
A fish is not one animal doing one thing. It is five tools working at once — and the test asks which tool does which job.
Memory trick
BREATHE · FLOAT · SHIELD · STEER · DRIVE
Five verbs, in order: gills breathe, swim bladder floats, scales shield, fins steer, tail drives. Say the verb first and the part comes with it.
Honest note
This station was rebuilt from your quiz
The textbook page on fish anatomy was not in the folder — only the quiz that tested it. Everything above matches what Quiz 3 actually asked. If Ma’am gave a handout with more parts on it, send it and this station gets rebuilt properly.

Freshwater fishes of the Philippines · 8 pairs
Eight names. Three you already know without studying. Five you have to own.
Memory trick
“Huwag Mong Bitiwan ang Dalawang Bangus”
Hito · Martiniko · Biya · Dalag · Bangus. Those are the five that do not sound like their English names. The other three — Carpa, Gurami, Tilapia — are almost free.
| English name | Vernacular | Free? |
|---|---|---|
| Carp | Carpa | almost free |
| Catfish | Hito | memorize |
| Climbing Perch | Martiniko | memorize |
| Goby | Biya | memorize |
| Gourami | Gurami | almost free |
| Mudfish | Dalag | memorize |
| Tilapia | Tilapia | free |

TLE 6, page 9
Seven diseases is a list you will forget. Count them instead — and you will never miss one.
Memory trick
TWO ROTS · TWO SPOTS · TWO EYES · ONE ULCER
2 rots (fin rot, tail rot) + 2 spots (white spot, red spot) + 2 eye diseases (cataract, exophthalmia) + 1 ulceration = seven. The count tells you when you have them all.
The pair that gets confused
WHITE = parasite · RED = bacteria
Both are “spot” diseases, so the test loves them. White spot is caused by a parasite. Red spot is caused by bacteria, and it makes the gills red or inflamed.
| Six causes of fish disease |
|---|
| 1. Presence of viruses, bacteria, parasites, or algae |
| 2. Absence of natural food, leading to nutritional deficiencies |
| 3. Lack or excess of oxygen, excess salinity, pesticides, chemical detergents, turbidity of water |
| 4. Unstable weather — heavy rains and long, dry seasons |
| 5. Insufficient supply of good quality water |
| 6. Fish farms contaminated with domestic and industrial waste |
Prevention and control
FEED · TREAT · STOCK · CLEAN
Feed properly (right amount and kind) · use antibiotics as food additives · buy good fish stocks from a reliable source · maintain clean, good quality water. For pests: nicotine from tobacco waste, or saponin from plants, applied at the pond bottom after draining, following quicklime.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
The pond can be replaced. The person working it cannot. That is the whole idea behind OHS.
Memory trick
BEFORE · DURING · AFTER
Safety runs on a timeline. Before you go out — check the weather forecast. During the work — wear your gear and follow the safe way to handle tools and nets. After the catch — handle, store and market the fish cleanly so nobody gets sick.
Honest note — partly missing
Only two safety facts had a source
The handout page listing the full safety measures for fishing, harvesting and marketing was cut off in the photos. The two cards above come from Quiz 3, so they are certain. Rather than invent a list, this station stays short. Send the page and it gets built out.

TLE 6, page 7
This is the one part of the test that is pure arithmetic — which means it is the one part you can get perfect every single time.
Memory trick
COUNT × WEIGH = TOTAL, then × RATE
Step 1: number of fingerlings × average weight = total weight.
Step 2: total weight × the feeding rate = the daily feeding requirement. Two steps. Never one.
Choosing the rate
SMALLER FISH, BIGGER BITE
The lighter the fish, the higher the percent. Small fish are growing fastest, so they eat the biggest share of their own weight.
| Average weight of fish | Feeding rate / day |
|---|---|
| 50 grams or less | 5% |
| 51 to 100 grams | 4% |
| More than 100 grams | 3% |
The book’s own worked example
1,000 × 20 g = 20,000 g → × 4% = 800 g
1,000 fingerlings at an average of 20 grams gives a total weight of 20,000 grams. Multiply by 4% (0.04) and the feeding requirement for one day is 800 grams.
The mistake you already made once
30,000 × 0.04 = 1,200 — not 120
On Quiz 3, item 13, this was the only computation you lost, and it was not the method — it was one decimal place. Before you write the answer, check it roughly: 4% of 30,000 must be a bit under half of 3,000. 120 is far too small. Say the estimate out loud before you write.

Listed in the pointers · source not in the folder
A fish farm is a business. The test will ask whether you know the difference between money coming in and money left over.
Honest note — no source material
This handout was not in the folder
Topic 6 is on the pointers sheet, but no textbook page, handout, or quiz item covering it was among the photos. Rather than invent figures a Grade 6 exam might not match, this station gives you only the arithmetic that is always true. Send the Cost and Profit handout and this becomes a full station.
The one formula that never changes
PROFIT = INCOME − EXPENSES
Income is what the harvest sold for: kilos harvested × price per kilo.
Expenses are everything you paid: fingerlings, feeds, labour, and pond upkeep.
What is left is profit. If expenses are bigger, that is a loss.

TLE Handout #2, pages 4–5 · 12 steps
Twelve steps is too many to memorize as twelve. It is really five moves — and the exam will ask you to put them in order.
Memory trick
FIND · OPEN · BUILD · STYLE · SEND
Find it (search, click the first link) · Open it (Go to Forms, then Blank) · Build it (name it, add questions, use the plus button) · Style it (the paint palette) · Send it (copy the link or email it). Five moves, always that order.
Why online forms at all
RESPONDENTS → RESPONSES → DATA
Respondents provide responses, and those responses become data — which you then analyze and interpret. That is the whole point of collecting them. Benefits: environment friendly, faster data collection, reduces transportation costs by eliminating printing expenses. The one thing that is not a benefit: it needs an internet connection.

Storage that is not in your hand. Four kinds, four brands — and the test wants you to tell them apart.
Memory trick · the four models
ALL · US · BOTH · MANY
Public = for all · Private = for us only · Hybrid = both at once · Multicloud = many providers. Four words in that order and you have the whole list.
| Example | The detail the test asks for |
|---|---|
| Google Drive | What most pupils use. Works on mobile and desktop, and syncs with any device. |
| iCloud | Exclusive to iOS and Apple users. Extra space can be bought. |
| DropBox | No data limit. Plans from 2 GB up to 1,000 TB. Manage files without downloading them. |
| Microsoft OneDrive | For Microsoft users. 5 GB free for every user. |
Using cloud storage · Google Drive in 7 steps
SEARCH → LOG IN → GO TO DRIVE → + NEW → SHARE
Search Google Drive → log in (or create an account) → click ‘Go to Drive’ → click ‘+ New’ to upload → choose new file, new folder, or add a folder → drag the file onto the window → to share, left-click the file and click ‘Share’.
